ARISSAT-1 18_AUG 1845 UTC LIVE RECEPTION

Today I had my best SAT reception at 145.950 MHZ FM. The antenna was o short dipole , this resemble more to Rabbits Ears with a short 300 ohms line in the middle before the radio connector. In fact I stolen it from an old TV set. The idea was capturing an mp3 file , but just few minutes before the sat passage , I realized the I could make a video clip of the all setup.

SUMMERTIME SAT HUNTING

Today I tried to receive ARISSAT-1 with the minimum cable lenght
from the dipole to the RX.
I Had a good audio for less than 1 min
with the horizontal dipole direction S/W.

ARISSAT-1 QRSS style 13_AUG reception

I am sorry for the terrible quality of the video clip, expecially the audio.
Yesterday's satellite passage was indicate as "good visibility".
I have a lot to improve in my reception setup (IC-R6 + 10 mt dipole).
Before the videoclip processing I was able to identify the audio callsign.
The 600 hz tone ,decreasing while approaching to the max elevation , was well
visible with SPECTRUMLAB.
In any case it was a nice experience !

Here you can follow realtime satellite's postion.

My first ARISSAT-1 reception

Yesterday 10AUG 2011 I did my first satellite reception .
It was ARISSAT-1 deployed from the ISS.

I was lucky to receive with my IC-R6 around 2350 local , his callsign in FM .
The carrier was off for the most part of his fly above my head.

Loud and clear when he switched on his transmitter.
